The End Times
This has always been a mistery to me, about why we have so many people making predictions for the world ending. This has to do with religion obviously, and how we have a lot of religious people (especially Christians), who say that God will be coming back soon, and when he does the world will end. I have a very good reason not to believe this, and so do many other people. The reason is because these are tactics used to gain control over people, and these are human beings that are conducting and orgistrating these belief systems. They do this to put fear into people's hearts and minds. This is a way for them to gain control over their thoughts, minds and emotions. Now, this really brings me to question these people as to whether or not this is true. You know, if the world will be coming to an end soon, because by me being an Atheist this is very hard to believe. What me and other nonbelievers need is to see hardcore evidence, and proof to this prediction, and I'm not talking about using any religious books or religious texts (bible) to prove it. I'm talking about taking a look at history to prove this prediction to be true. History, meaning was there any time when God appeared and said that this is his or her word, and that the world will be coming to an end soon.
Now, I know that even though there's not enough evidence to show that this is the absolute truth that I will have some religious people coming up to me, trying to convince me that it is. Well I have news for them, it's not going to work. I don't believe people should be using false beliefs, religious scriptures, and religious teachings to prove that the world is going to end, without having any crucial evidence. Here's how it gets even more ridiculous, because people have been saying this stuff for centuries that the world is going to end. It doesn't make any sense, because me and everyone else would think that people would realize that the world is not going to end, because of the fact that people have been saying this for centuries, and nothing has happened, yet. I would think that more people would realize this, and stop trying to make all these predictions, but that's not the case at all. I'm not trying to put down religious people, or disrespect them. I just want them to see how what they're saying about the end times really doesn't make a whole lot of sense, and Christians especially need to realize that none of this makes sense, because we hear about a lot of these predictions about the world ending all the time, and it hasn't happened, yet! LOL!!! I don't mean to laugh, but that's how ridiculous all this is.
I'm pretty sure many Atheists, Agnostics and other people out there are aware of this new date that came up for the world ending. The date is December 21, 2012. Now, this is because of some calendar that the Myans created years ago, and because it ended on this specific date people think that this is when the world will end. Well me and other Atheists are here to tell you that nothings going to happen anytime soon because there's no proof to it happening. There's no logic behind these predictions that Christians and other religious people are coming up with. So I'm here to say to all the nonbelievers out there, let's not buy into any of this BS=bullshit!!! LOL!!!! Because that's exactly what it is. It's nonsense, and its about time we show evidence to people about this idea of us living in the quote-on-quote "End Times" being false. We need to prove to people that this is not true. And to all the extremely religious people out there, who uses these tactics to scare people into believing what you believe, and making them believe that the world is going to end soon, when God comes back, because of these quote-on-quote "certain signs" you're noticing? Look, you should know by now that this same stuff you're talking about, like the change in the weather, or this and that was going on thousands of years ago, and people were saying the same exact crap that you're saying. So you know seriously, GIVE IT A REST! I don't mean to be offensive, but this is the truth. You really need to give it a rest, and give up your superstitions.
And that's all I have to say on this subject!
Sayonara!
Peace!

Great-looking blog, Tokyo!
ReplyDeleteThey are all wrong. The end of the world came long ago. :)
Yes nick you are right! These people really need to stop with this. It's bad, I can't get my own mom to see how ridiculous all this shit is. She believes this nonsense, too.
ReplyDeleteIt it took a while for me to respond.
The must be a list somewhere of end-of-the-world dates. They keep being pushed out into the future. There will always be another one.
ReplyDeleteAfter 2012, there will be another one.
If you can find a long enough list, it might help convince your mother.
If she doesn't change her mind by 2012, you might have to talk to her before someone gives her the next date and she latches on to that.
Maybe make a deal with her now. Have her promise, in writing, that if the world doesn't end on 2012, she'll talk to you before believeing in a new date.
i don't think she knows about this date. she never said anything about it. but where should i find this list.
ReplyDeleteYou might just want to google terms like:
ReplyDelete"list of end of the world dates"
or something like that.
I don't know if there is a comprehensive list.
There was one american "prophet" who kept changing the date everytime the world didn't end.
His followers eventually got irritated at him (it's tough to keep selling everything you own!).

Actually that's a good test.
ReplyDeleteThe next time someone tells me the world is ending on xx-xx-20xx, on going to ask them if they have sold everything they own.
That should test the degree of their "belief". :)
Yes it should, and i can see why people were getting irritated with that prophet. He has no facts to back up his predictions.
ReplyDeleteI wonder what they'll say next when December 12, 2012 comes and goes like the the year 2000?
ReplyDeleteAfter hearing religion after religion making the same claim that it was the woman who took satan's (the talking snake)advice and offered the man a forbidden apple which then turned out to be the cause of all sin, I knew religion was bullshit.
Men made up religion/god as a way for them to understand the universe, and now they're using it to rule the damn world.
When 12/2012 comes, they'll just pick a new date; they always do.
ReplyDeleteRe the Adam and Eve story. It is interesting that Eve has the apple. But did you notice that it is Adam who actually lies to God and places the blame on Eve?
The date they have for the end of the world is December 21, 2012 Prisoner, but either way. Despite the fact that nothing will happen, they will claim that something will happen, even though nothing will.
ReplyDeleteAnd yes Nick, this whole thing with the Adam and Eve story really doesn't make a whole lot of sense. People just need to stop with this nonsense, and realize that the world is not going to end anytime soon. These people just seriously need to get over themselves.
Maybe they would be willing to give us all their property before 12/2012.
ReplyDeleteIf they won't give us all their property, then they're not true believers.
:)
Well, they can't do that Nick, because then they won't have anywhere to live, before the date comes. They will be homesless, and that's not a good thing.
